A text residency on value, language and culture

Girl Math Masterclass for Real Estate Novices

2026 · Malmö

Girl Math Masterclass for Real Estate Novices is a text residency for artistic interpretations of valuation, language and the place of culture in Malmö.

The residency asks what happens when the dense and opaque logic of urban valuation meets the everyday creativity and alternative logic popularly called girl math. Here, girl math is not only a joke but a method: a playful and subversive way to question, renegotiate and transform the black holes of urban decision-making.

Invited artists will work with poetry, essays, experimental prose and real estate poetry. Their work opens new ways to understand and communicate the processes that shape the conditions of culture in Malmö, bringing artistic and academic knowledge into dialogue.

Four residency days combine site visits, seminars, workshops and writing retreats. Each day is connected to one of four case studies: The Exceptions, The Mediators, The Vortex and The Grand Gesture. The programme concludes with a public presentation and conversation in November 2026.
